History & significance

One of the few Indian temples where Vishnu is worshipped in his Matsya form. For three days each year the rising sun runs the length of the temple from the gopuram to the sanctum, touching the deity's feet, navel and crown on successive mornings. It is administered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
