A Vishnu temple set among the Brahmagiri hills of Wayanad, reached through forest and long resorted to for ancestral rites performed at the nearby Papanasini stream.

Sthala katha — the legend

Brahma is said to have found an image of Vishnu inside an amla tree at this spot and recognised the place as the god's own heavenly abode.
