History & significance

One of the oldest temples of Nellore, standing on the bank of the Penna and believed to date from the twelfth century; its roughly seventy-foot gopuram, crowned with gilded kalashams, was built by Yeragudipati Venkatachalam Panthulu. The annual Brahmotsavam falls in March or April.
