The fourth of the six war-camp abodes of Murugan, built on a sixty-foot mound reached by a long stair, with three gopurams and three enclosures and shrines to Sundareswarar and Meenakshi at the foot of the hill.
Here the child Murugan is said to have expounded the meaning of the syllable Om to his father Shiva, and so earned the name Swaminatha, teacher of the lord.
