A three-tiered apsidal temple in Kasaragod district whose woodwork carries scenes of Ganesha and the Ramayana; the linga is said to have been found by a woman named Madaru of the Tulu Moger community, and the Ganapathi figure drawn on the sanctum wall by a boy grew to overshadow the older dedication. It was long held by the Kumbla rajas of Maipady Palace before passing to the Devaswom board.
Tipu Sultan is said to have come to demolish the temple but to have changed his mind after drinking water from its well, leaving only a sword mark on the well house.
