A major Devi temple in central Delhi founded by the cloth merchant Badri Das and run since 1944 by the Badri Bhagat Jhandewalan Temple Society. It is busiest during Navaratri and is known for large-scale community kitchens.
Badri Das is said to have dreamt repeatedly of a buried shrine on the hill, and on digging near a spring found an old image of Vaishno Devi in a cave, over which he raised the flag that gave the temple its name.
