A white peace pagoda on Dhauli hill above the Daya river, built by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha beside Ashoka's rock edicts, at a site long central to Odisha's Buddhist heritage.
The hill is widely believed to be where the Kalinga War was fought, the carnage that turned Ashoka to Buddhism.
