ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਕਾਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ
Baba Bakala, Amritsar, Punjab · 31.5550°, 75.2656°
Marks the village where Guru Tegh Bahadur was living in seclusion when Guru Har Krishan, dying in Delhi in 1664, named only 'Baba Bakale' as his successor. Its Bhora Sahib is a nine-storeyed building raised over the cellar in which the Guru meditated.
Makhan Shah Lubana, who had vowed five hundred dinars for deliverance from a storm at sea, found the true Guru by offering only two coins and waiting to see who would ask for the rest.
