A river-confluence shrine of Cuddalore district founded under the Cholas and rebuilt in the Nayak period, glorified by Sundarar among the Paadal Petra Sthalams.

Sthala katha — the legend

A Chola king who had wrongfully killed his wife is said to have been cured of the resulting affliction by bathing at the confluence where Shiva rules as Koodalaiyitroorar.
