A desert shrine in Jaisalmer district close to the Pakistan border, founded in 828 CE by the Bhati Rajput king Tanu Rao and now also serving as a war memorial cared for by border troops.
During the 1965 war some three thousand shells are said to have fallen on the temple without exploding, and the 1971 victory at nearby Longewala is locally credited to the goddess's protection.
