One of the oldest surviving wooden temples in India, commissioned by Meru Varman at his hill capital of Bharmour and still holding its 7th-century brass image of Durga. Its carved timber doorway and ceiling preserve early Shaiva and Vaishnava imagery rarely found intact elsewhere.
